While most of our Chilliwack RV parking clients let their RV’s sit over the winter, there are logical opportunities to go RVing in the winter around Chilliwack. We recently found a nice place to take the RV in the winter – Manning Park Resort ski hill in Manning Park just east of Hope. Manning has RV spots with power right in their lower parking lot. They leave the day lodge open for RVers to access the hot showers and the onsite cafe offers grill style mountain food for sale.
Manning Park Resort is no Whistler-Blackcomb, it is a chance to get away from the crowds and ski in a rustic and relaxed family style resort. There are just two main lifts but a decent amount of varied terrain to keep you happy for several days.
The Polar Coaster Tube Park is a big hit with the kids. It requires a seperate lift ticket (see the ticket office or rental office), but the ticket is actually free for younger kids. The top of the tube park is right at the RV parking area.
If you get tired of downhill, check out the 64 km of groomed cross country trails to explore. There is also a tobogganing area, snowshoeing opportunities, and an outdoor ice rink down near the highway that complete the old style winter experience.
So get outdoors and use your RV in the winter too! Happy RVing.
